PlanetEye
Oh my, I don't know how we missed this, but our little company had it's first mention in national press a few weeks ago. Check out this National Post article written after the Mesh Conference. I'll skip to the good part and quote a few paragraphs:
Among the most "progressive" VCs in Canada -- at least within the Web 2.0 world -- are Brightspark, GrowthWorks and J.L. Albright Partners. J.L. Albright's Rick Segal, for example, has a "no harm, no foul" open invitation for any entrepreneur who wants to meet him for 30 minutes.
While Mr. Segal is obviously a savvy salesman and marketer, it is nevertheless encouraging that VCs are willing to entertain pitches from start-ups. At the very least, the attention can only be positive if it encourages entrepreneurs to take the plunge.
That said, J.L. Albright is starting to walk the Web 2.0 walk with investments in start-ups such as PlanetEye -- a project that combines technology from Microsoft Corp. and brain power from the University of Toronto.
The emphasis is all mine. And while I can't stand the retarded 2-dot-whatever posturing that seems to be in vogue right now, one can't really blame the reporter since Mesh coined itself as 'Canadas Web 2.0 Conference'. But I digress... this was still hella exciting anyways, even if they did only mention our name. And hey! Look at that awesome photo of Rick in that article as he stares longingly into the distance.
