Running Up That Hill

By chance yesterday I discovered Chromatics, a Portland noise-rock band that recently re-branded themselves as elegant purveyors of synth-led Italian-discopop songs.

Admittedly these sparse, bleary-eyed, late-night anthems are not for everyone. But personally, listening to this music on a cold, cloudy autumn evening makes me wish for nothing more than to drop this whole web-development game, move somewhere on the Italian coast, find a pretty, sad girl with shadowed eyes and 60's bangs and start a band, writing melancholy songs for club kids driving home late at night.

Running Up That Hill (Kate Bush cover)

And if I only could
I'd make a deal with God
And I'd get him to swap our places

Be running up that road
Be running up that hill
Be running up that building

...

You
It's you and me
It's you and me, you won't be unhappy
